BULLET JOURNAL
ONLINE WORKSHOP

Track your Past ▸ Order your Present ▸ Design your Future

What is a Bullet Journal?

Though it does require a journal, Bullet Journal is a methodology. It's best described as a mindfulness practice disguised as a productivity system. It's designed to help you organise your what while you remain mindful of your why. The goal of the Bullet Journal is to help its practitioners to live intentional lives, ones that are both productive and meaningful.

In the first week of the workshop, we will learn the core methodology of how a Bullet Journal works. Week by week, we will add in new parts to your bullet journal, through an online live talk and presentation that includes lots of visuals. We will also have open discussion time between all the workshop participants, to ask questions, share ideas and get to know each other.

You will be sent a printed booklet that relates to each weeks presentation, that you can refer to in and between workshop sessions. As a group, we will learn together and help each other find our path along the way.

Some of the things we will cover, as well as the Bullet Journal methodology:

  • Habit Tracking
  • Goal Setting
  • Goal Completing
  • Defining the Why before the How
  • Reflection (Daily, Weekly and Monthly)
  • Migration (What to take forward, what to leave behind, what to add in)

This online workshop will use Zoom (or something similar) to work online together in a group of no more than 6 people.

Who's presenting this workshop?

Hi, my name is Mike Panic and I’m an artist & designer based in Stoke-on-Trent. I discovered Bullet Journalling in 2019 after going through a period of depression.

In this time, I realised that something needed to change drastically in my life. Something wasn’t working. That “something” always felt like me as a whole, which lead to a lot of self loathing. Self doubt, fear of making mistakes, perfectionism and trouble making decisions, created a cocktail inside me that was simply getting more and more toxic to swallow.

So what changed?

Well, a quote from the comedian Joan Rivers can help me explain.
“Listen. I wish I could tell you it gets better. But, it doesn't get better. You get better.”

After having a full blown meltdown in 2019, which resulted in me running off for 3 days, sitting in a field with bunch of cows (no lie) and reading a book. That book was called The Bullet Journal Method by Ryder Carroll, the inventor of the Bullet Journal. The book had sat on my shelf in my room for 6 months before this, yet another todo that I probably would never get around to doing. I came across it after seeing people online show off their colourful and customised journals, that were a mixture of todo list, sketchbook, habit tracker and whatever else you could devise. I soon realised that Bullet Journalling is much more than that.

Bullet Journalling has given me a way to focus. To make small manageable adjustments to my life through non judgemental reflection. To be more open to myself, about myself.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to sound all spiritual mumbo jumbo or to sell a self help course. It just took me to be in a very dark place (understatement) to discover what Bullet Journalling is and I can truly say it’s improved my life. I wish I could have found it when I was younger. So I’m hoping that I can share it with you now, whatever age or stage of your life you are at. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t have to have something negative going in in your life to Bullet Journal. If anything, if you are loving life, Bullet Journalling is amazing too I’m sure. It’s just a tool to help you, to help yourself. I truly believe this can help everyone to become their best self, you themselves.

It’s helped me create new positive habits. Get projects started and completed. Get rid of things that weren’t working for me. Heck, I even got this whole section about me written because of my Bullet Journal and I’m not a fan of writing at all!

I hope you will join me in learning how to Bullet Journal and please get in touch if you have any questions.

P.S. If you are wondering why I call myself Mike Panic, well, I decided to turn my panic into a positive thing. So I took ownership of it and made it my name. I turned my panic into a passion. To help myself. Share what works and make some awesome creative friends along the way.
